| Effect
of September 11 on Travel - Travel to Africa returned to normal quite
quickly after the events of 9/11. The two principal carriers that
we use, KLM, and SAA already had exceptional security plans in effect before
that time. SAA departing from Atlanta was one of the first international
flights to leave the U.S., and KLM was back to normal very soon thereafter.
The events have raised the consciousness of everyone about travel, and
even small regional African carriers have established strong security measures
including baggage screening.
